We Create Tech was founded in 2022 by a Title I Career and Technology Education teacher who was once told she wasn't college material, then watched brilliant students leave for college and come back home because the bridge wasn't there. So we built one. Today we close the opportunity divide in STEAM so students don't just learn technology. They create it, own it, and build careers and ventures from it.

Before We Create Tech was a nonprofit, it was one sentence from a high school counselor. Here's what happened next.
When I started We Create Tech, it was more than a program. It was a promise.
A promise to the girl in that counselor's office, and to every student I watched leave for college full of potential. Some thrived and led their programs on day one. Others came home because the bridge wasn't there. They didn't run out of talent. They ran out of road.
Those years taught me something I build on every day: exposure alone is not enough. A field trip can open a door, but students still need a way to walk through it. They need skills, credentials, relationships, options, and a community that keeps showing up long after the workshop ends.
That is the bridge We Create Tech exists to build. A no is not the end. Neither is coming home. So when a student hears no, we make sure they also hear what's next.
This work is not about my credentials. It is about the student who builds their first circuit and realizes they are an engineer. The one who designs adaptive technology for an athlete and learns that tech can be an act of love. The one who earns a certification and changes the trajectory of their entire family.
We Create Tech is the mirror, the pathway, and the launchpad. And we are just getting started.
Don't let anyone talk you out of your future or make you feel like you don't belong. This is the first thing we teach and the last thing we say. Everything we build starts here.
